Textbook Replacement Guidelines
All students are financially responsible for the textbooks checked out in their names. We STRONGLY suggest that students do not leave texts unattended at any time. Leaving a text in a teacher’s room, even if allowed or encouraged by a teacher, does not remove the student’s responsibility for its care or for damages that may occur.
We recommend covering all texts with book covers to maintain the integrity of the books and to make them more easily identifiable.
Any books lost, stolen, or damaged will result in a fine for the replacement cost. Settlements must be made before a replacement book will be issued. Settlement options are as follows:
-
OPTION 1: Pay for the textbook
-
Cash or checks are accepted for payment.
-
If a book is later returned, a refund will be sent to the address on record.
-
-
OPTION 2: Replace the textbook
-
Any replacement text must exactly match the ISBN# of the lost text.
-
The replacement text must be complete and in good condition, as defined by library staff.
-
Replacement texts will only be accepted if accompanied by a receipt proving the text was legitimately purchased.
-
If the lost textbook is later returned, there will be no cash refunds, though the student may keep the textbook, if desired.
-
Thank you for your support!

Dress Code
Student Dress Code
The Board of Education has determined that a student may not remain at school dressed in a manner that (1) creates a safety hazard for said student or for other students at school, and/or (2) when the dress disrupts campus order. When the site administration determines that a student's attire is in violation of this policy, the student will be required to modify their clothing and/or apparel in such a way that no longer violates this policy. Refusal to take steps as directed by the administration may result in disciplinary action.
-
Shoes must be worn at all times. A substantial sole is required, and enclosed toe and heel footwear is highly encouraged. Athletic shoes are required for Physical Education classes.
-
Clothing will always cover all undergarments. Undergarments may not be worn solely as clothing (e.g. bra tops, boxer briefs). A jacket or cover-up to conceal brief clothing that reveals undergarments is not acceptable. Extremely brief garments are not appropriate. No garments should be so revealing/brief as to show undergarments while seated or standing. Clothing that resembles an undergarment, such as a sports bra or swimwear top, are not allowed.
-
Clothing or accessories shall be free of writing, pictures or any other insignia or logos which are crude, violent, obscene or sexually suggestive or which advocate racial, ethnic or religious prejudice. Slogans or pictures depicting or promoting drugs, alcohol, tobacco or controlled substances are not appropriate (this includes Playboy logos, Cookies brand clothing and logos, clothing with marajuana leaves, and any other logo or brand promoting pornography or drug/alcohol use). Additionally, clothing that might incite hatred or unrest between students is not allowed.
-
Earrings, jewelry, or accessories, which present a safety hazard to the wearer or others, are not suitable for school wear. Spiked/sharp accessories of any kind will not be allowed.
-
Only prescription sunglasses may be worn in class. Other types of sunglasses may be worn on campus outside of class.
-
Identified gang attire or any gang paraphernalia is prohibited. The administration has the right to ban any clothing or accessory that indicates gang affiliation.
-
Hats or any type of sun-protective headgear may be worn on campus, as long as it does not violate any other section of the Dress Code. Hats should be removed while indoors on campus.
If this policy is violated, students will be asked to report to administration and will be provided the opportunity to change into an approved garment. Multiple violations will result in progressive disciplinary action consistent with other means of correction for defiance of school policies.
Dance Contract
Student DanceIEvent Rules and Permissions
Citrus Valley High School, in an effort to offer dances / events that are safe, alcohol and substance free, and comfortable for everyone in attendance, has developed these policies that we hope parents, guardians, and students will understand and support .
-
Students dancing inappropriately will be directed to leave the dance floor immediately, and will be directed to leave the facility. Specifically, dancing styles that involve touching of the breasts, buttocks, or genitals, or that simulate sexual activity is NOT allowed. When dancing back to front, all dancers must remain upright--no sexual squatting or sexual bending is allowed, i.e. no hands on knees and no hands on the dance floor with your buttocks facing or touching your dance partner.
-
Formal Dance Attire: Attire worn by student should be appropriate for the function they are attending. Clothing that is clearly not appropriate (see-through, extremely brief or that leaves little to the imagination, or is offensive) will result in the student not being admitted. No attire which shows underclothing will be permitted. No refunds will be given under these circumstances.
-
Non-formal Dance: CVHS dress code applies to males as well as females. Clothing that is clearly not appropriate will result in the student not being admitted. No attire that shows underclothing will be permitted. No headwear is permitted. Students not compliant with CVHS dress code will not be admitted or will be asked to leave if attire is altered during the dance. No refunds will be given under these circumstances.
-
These policies are the only warning that will be given. No further warnings will be given at the dance/event. If a student chooses to behave inappropriately, the student will not be allowed to remain at the dance.
-
All students must present a current Citrus Valley High School ID card in order to purchase a dance ticket AND must present a current Citrus Valley High School ID at the door in order to enter the dance-NO EXCEPTIONS!

-
CVHS staff members may administer a breath analysis test to ticket holders upon entry in a predetermined pattern. This testing will be done to discourage alcohol and drug use. In addition to the random use of breath analysis, staff may also administer the breath analysis on reasonable suspicion of use.
-
Participants may not leave the dance and return at a later time.
-
Tickets are nontransferable and nonrefundable. The person buying the ticket is the person who attends the dance and brings photo ID. No refunds will be given if a student is directed to leave before the end of the dance. CVHS is not responsible for any costs incurred in preparation for the dance (dresses, tuxedos, limousines, etc.).
-
Within 45-school days of a CVHS dance, if a student is suspended or has 45 period absences, he/she will be excluded from attending that dance. Attendance codes (A, B, C, D & F) will result in a student's exclusion from that dance. See Parent Portal for explanation of Attendance Codes.
